Don't you love the internet?

facebook effects in the future

Read this!

Apparently it'll be easy for potential employers etc to find information on you in the future. I don't doubt this, but if certain precautions are made...it shouldn't be too hard to cover (most of) your tracks? (i'm probably just going to cover facebook. laziness ftw!)

Let's assume we're looking for certain information about a certain someone on the Internet. In most cases, this will be on Facebook, where most of our online social interactions occur. There are weird pictures, probably some incriminating messages, so on so forth that spring from the immaturity of youth. Facebook has tried to address this concern by setting up 'groups' and supposedly more stringent settings to allow you to control where your content is being shown. But of course its not really working (from what I've seen) because there's just too much information on facebook to organize!

All you really have to do is delete your Facebook account. You can deactivate it, and then all messages, tags and photos won't easily be seen by someone searching on Facebook. Employers might think 'wow this guy doesn't even have an online prescence' (which might be a bad thing) but you could spin it as if you didn't NEED an online presence because you're just such an awesome guy/girl in real life. And if you were desperate enough, you could create a new email, and set up a new Facebook page.
(Granted, you would also lose contact with your friends, but heck. If you really care about them, call them! or even better send them a letter, or an e-mail. That being said, I rely on Facebook for alot of communication over the Interwebs...)

It...might work?
