mhs formal

'The studious boys of selective secondary college Melbourne High School have become the envy of teens across the world this weekend after pop star Katy Perry crashed their school formal at the Grand Hyatt at around 11pm Friday night.'

-The Age, 15th August

Formal was the most amazing event I've been to in my school life. And not just because Katy Perry crashed our formal (which in itself was amazing), but because the night itself was fantastic. Even if she didn't come, I still would have had the best fun I've had for a while.

Pre's at alex's were really good...seeing us with our dates reminds me that not 4 years ago, we were just little kids in year 9, full of expectations and dreams. And now, a formal, where we're (mostly) all grown up =) Everyone turned up looking quite awesome, and my gorgeous date Mackie turned up and surprised me with a formal present! It is the best thing I've received for a while =)

Turning up to the formal and seeing all these people that are usually a. in school uniform or b. lurking in places at school that I've never been, it was very exciting. The ice sculpture was something I expected (as I did stalk all the formal photos from last year), but the whole atmosphere was amazing. A big shoutout to the SRC who really pushed the boat out for this. I reckon it was a good $115 spent. The pro photos, the whole scene, the nicely dressed up people...sometimes words can't really express the feelings you want to put across.

My date, and super friend, Mackie won best dressed...she was stressing over this formal for a few weeks, and I'm so happy and proud she was repaid in such an awesome way =)

The photos don't capture the atmosphere of it all, but I do remember having a smile plastered across my face for a lot of the night. The professional photos (hopefully) will be bloody awesome when we get to see them, and I'm sure I'm going to buy many =) Taking the 9K photo was nearly my favourite, as we could see how much we'd grown up. Such good memories from 9K...even if I was the butt of the jokes (only 9K people will get that double meaning =D). Obviously my favourite was Mackie and I's couple photo, after she'd won the 'Best Dressed Female' award. She's an amazing person, and one of my best friends.

The afterparty showed me how close-knit we were...being a little drunk and all. Support comes from unexpected quarters sometimes...and that's nice =) But I hate the emo-ness that comes from it. Fortunately, the TP crew is very close, and dnm's are always there to help. Thanks to those guys and girls. They are amazing :)

Overall it was a great night, and I'm definitely going to cherish the memory of the MHS formal 2010.

PS: I love how newspapers think because we go to MHS that we are studious

MIDYEARS

So like don't be expecting too much XD I did say I had midyears.

Kind of happy about my trial exams marks. I did about ten or so chem exams before the Chem Trial, and then watched Glee the night before, and pulled an ok score. Not to the standard of the year 12 group last year; they would rip me for getting so much wrong! But it was all cool. I know what to study more now xD

PSYCH was not too hard. Just alot of detail missing. Sad...was beaten. probably only going for Psych Prize this year ^^ Maths and Sciences are just for the freaks XD

I was really interested in this proof, but it turned out to just be a definitional thing. what a let down:

PROOF 1+1=2:
The proof starts from the Peano Postulates, which define the natural
numbers N. N is the smallest set satisfying these postulates:

P1. 1 is in N.
P2. If x is in N, then its "successor" x' is in N.
P3. There is no x such that x' = 1.
P4. If x isn't 1, then there is a y in N such that y' = x.
P5. If S is a subset of N, 1 is in S, and the implication
(x in S => x' in S) holds, then S = N.

Then you have to define addition recursively:
Def: Let a and b be in N. If b = 1, then define a + b = a'
(using P1 and P2). If b isn't 1, then let c' = b, with c in N
(using P4), and define a + b = (a + c)'.

Then you have to define 2:
Def: 2 = 1'

2 is in N by P1, P2, and the definition of 2.

Theorem: 1 + 1 = 2

Proof: Use the first part of the definition of + with a = b = 1.
Then 1 + 1 = 1' = 2 Q.E.D.

Note: There is an alternate formulation of the Peano Postulates which
replaces 1 with 0 in P1, P3, P4, and P5. Then you have to change the
definition of addition to this:
Def: Let a and b be in N. If b = 0, then define a + b = a.
If b isn't 0, then let c' = b, with c in N, and define
a + b = (a + c)'.

You also have to define 1 = 0', and 2 = 1'. Then the proof of the
Theorem above is a little different:

Proof: Use the second part of the definition of + first:
1 + 1 = (1 + 0)'
Now use the first part of the definition of + on the sum in
parentheses: 1 + 1 = (1)' = 1' = 2 Q.E.D.

Yeah I'm kind of sad like that.

Got a bit of new music from a good friend. Going through it all now...really is opening up my mind to new types of music other than the stuff I used to listen to xD HELPING MY MUSIC EDUCATION. YAYYY ain't it good? ^^

GLEEEEEE I quite love the singing...and I only recently found this!

GOOD LUCK PEEPS~

Are you expecting something from me? Tell me now! Please!

Dawwwww Up is such a great movie. I gotta watch it again =))

GAH Busybusybusybusybusy

there is no time. or is there? Everything is piling up, and I just feel like there isn't enough time. there probably is, but if I let it all come rushing towards me, I won't be able to handle it. I have to have those periods of just...relaxation. And I don't get that much at all these days. Chorals take up so much time. I get one recess/lunch out of every 4, and since alot of my friends are in the House that has rehearsal (coincidentally), I don't get to see them. This makes me sad.

FRICKEN FORREST KIDS. SEE ME. =DD

Chorals actually takes alot of work:

Go the Distance: I've got about 4/5 rehearsals left. We have the last, hardest, highest part to do. And I gotta find a way to get them to remember words. The entire house. damn the song with each chorus and verse having different lyrics ==" makes it harder to learn. whatever. I suppose I brought it on myself anyway ^^"

California Dreaming: I have to write a tenor 2 part. Like....for the whole thing. LOL I should have done this so much earlier...but I only recently realised that not every tenor can go up to a G. ==" I'm smart hey?

I am indebted to Jeff Van. He's the choral leader of Waterloo..and he's doing such an awesome job at not only supervising but also conducting and encouraging. He's helped me alot...and got me through some difficult times in conducting ^^

Until next time, folks!

Don't worry, I ain't quitting. I just found it funny LOOOOOL

Then there was music, and wonderful roses~

Yeah, I don't think anyone will be able to pick that song ;) I'm quite an oldie in that respect.

[Barney Stinson style]

So the first week of Year 12 is over. Its been a pretty studious week. I think I've done alot actually. I've never had so much study in every period, after school, at home...

Its this new rule I enforced on myself: No computer until 9pm - when I sleep every night. I was really obsessed with computer for a while. I guess I still am, but on weekdays when I really need to not be on the computer, this rule really works. Determination ftw.

[I don't think Pluto looks like this. Its supposed to be a lump of weird rock isn't it? THAT LOOKS LIKE THE MOON. Doesn't matter. The message is the same =))]

Nothing much else has been happening I guess xDD On the first day I thought I didn't have Psych, because I had double frees! 12 free periods (which are actually library periods)! I liked the emptiness of my timetable. But then I took it to the SLC and Woody said I had to take another subject. Even though Psych was full. Ensue meeting with Crockstar (Mr. Crocket) who was my form teacher in year 10~ Had to ask him to be in one of his classes. He's such a good guy...love him man. love him. Got in~! so happy.

Being Concertmaster is good I guess. I have more power but I've learnt to earn it. Being nice and mean at the same time is what Phil did. And he was the perfect concertmaster. I'm only good at talking to people. I can leave all the skill stuff with Chris. He's skilled to the max. Since I was shunned as Leader of Camerata in preference to Chris...I guess so does Berezin...==" Had to present a speech for the fresh blood's parents coming in this year. Thanks to those excellent debating skills that I picked up from the Amazing Tallon Mason-Kaine, and of course my excellent debating team (modesty intended), Speech was good. invigorating. Even to myself =)) It was really humid and...yes. sigh. oh well. xDDD

Kind of realized all the shiz I won't be able to do this year. Gaming especially. Maybe I shouldn't have good Steam games and stuff just before Year 12...but that's fine. I can totally not play them. Practically because I need to be away from things to really appreciate them.

'Abscence makes the heart grow fonder' (or something along those lines xDD)

Love you all, my readers =))

What to do what to do...

Holidays have been surprisingly good. I've been very happy, although with the parents around its kind of dampened my spirits. Nagging is bad, but company is good. ^^

Studying moderately hard for Year 12. Its quite hard actually. Going slowly, but I've still got 3 weeks left. Again, year 12 hasn't quite got to me yet. Hopefully it won't. ^^ The stress has started to pile up even but minutely with the Chorals competition. I have to transcribe stuff for that and start practicing conducting etc. LOL busy is me.

I've been doing alot of stuff I won't be able to do when school starts. Got into TF2, L4D and Portal. Portal was finished just today in like...3-4 hours straight? wasn't too hard actually, was expecting more. L4D is becoming addictive. I missed the initial love of it, and I might have to get L4D2 (even if it is a cracked, pirated version ^^) TF2 is just amajjing. The best. :D no wonder its rated 92 on metascore on steam LOL

I need to play more bass. Its so fun flicking through the tabs playing stuff that I know from ages past. My music taste was flavoured initially by what parents listened to (old 50's-60's-70's music surprisingly) which have pretty nice bass lines. ^^ gotta get that band together YES KENTO? ALEX? :DDD

Was in a weird sad mood last night. Don't know why. Thanks to mah bffl, I got through it. I downloaded One Litre of Tears at last, just for next time. ^^ But I'm all better now LOL

Finished watching Big Bang Theory (up to latest). Must wait for Scrubs and HIMYM....I must have them. So but for now, Friends it is again. =DD

Hope you're having a great holiday, readers (if there actually are any)

where has everyone gone

All the bloggers have been not-blogging! This sad affair cannot continue. THIS IS AN APPEAL FOR YOU TO BLOG! :DD

So this week has been a drag. Reharsal after rehearsal after rehearsal after bloody rehearsal. My arm is well and truly fuckéd. It is telling me not to violin any more, or else it will die. Siigh...the things I go through for this school =PP

MY PRIZE! remember that? $80 worth of books, yeah? So when I was at Borders picking, I chose, and as I'm at least good enough at maths for this, 3 books worth just over $80, planning to pay the difference. What does Mr. Crocket say today? 'You probably have around $30 over that you'll have to pay.' WTF I AM 100% SURE THAT IT ADDED UP TO AROUND $80! How gay. Borders, I love you, but not this time. >_____>

All exams are over. School is over. School is bunk. Let the going-out and poorness begin!

Finally!

Revs is over! Have you missed me? :D

I'd say I wasn't posting because I was on 69 posts...but I'd be lying. I was just too full-on with History. LOOOOL. It was a fun exam. Unlike the '05 practice exam which had shithouse questions that just didn't make sense. This was one was nice! I liked. I had trouble choosing which revolution I wanted to do first and second...but obviously I picked. Russia first, France second. The graphical analysis questions were easier :DD but the essay for France was a little challenging. I think I could have written more, but I did the best I could, and that's all that matters. I've picked that mentality up from my experiences as I've grown. :)

So now I am free...ish. Here's what I've missed out on/must start on now:

- NaNoWriMo. I've only written 1689 words...so I better get cracking as soon as I can to get to 50,000 words!
- CS:S and TF2 and everything. DAYUMMM fun will be had. Terminally. :D
- Violin. I finally have more time to practice yayy.
- Buy presents for peeps~

LOOOOOL well, I feel a little drained. No emotion particularly...will miss History though. Surprisingly :D

the nitty-gritty

LAMEEEEEEEEEE...or Michael-Lim worthy xDD Study has fried my brain...

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN.

Exams. *SHOCK HORROR*

This is actually quite late. Everyone's having their exams already...but I've been HARDWORKING so I haven't updated. ALRIGHT? I hope the year 12's aren't stressing too hard, and DOING WELL IN EXAMS~ oh, and year 11's as well! YAYY!

Study was productive. I did a shitload of study on this study weekend (go me!). No French whatsoever (as I said ^^) and a LOT of history. Not enough though. IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH. I just hope I don't go into the exam regretful of lack of study :(

So I started NaNoWriMo. 12am - 1am. First hour. The only writing I'll be doing for a while. And I managed to crank out 1689 words. NANOWORDCOUNT: 1689. That shall be updated :DDD I hope I don't have any time between now and History exam to write, because I should be STUDYING :OOO

In other news, I've been relaxing with Friends. Not just actual friends, but the TV series:

I JUST SAW THIS EPISODE :DDD awesome sauce.

Fun Roar!

Good Karma:

- History Revolutions Prize [$80 at Borders =D]
- B Grade State Debating WIN
- Full Colours for Debating

I am quite happy, but don't feel it. Maybe it hasn't all set in yet. ^^ I try to be modest >____>

I had so much to blog, but then I decided instead to write the last post, which took me 3 -4 hours. Now I can't remember much of it. Aren't I such a committed blogger =="

Muck-up day passed...I didn't get to school until half-way through Period 1, luckily. No-one really tried to get me (YESH!) although OJ, Hungy and Kevin did try to gladwrap me when they were leaving...fortunately they got caught by Ireson. OWNED, I must say. So, year 12's are gone. As you can see from the last post, I am quite sad about this. I'm gonna miss them heaps, but I hope they do well in exams and move on to bigger and better things!

History exam is coming up quickly. Amassed a ton of quotes...now need to sort through them to see if I need them all or not (I definitely don't). Don't any of you say I have to get 50 for History...because I probably won't. Ima do my best, and I always say...If you did it with no regrets, you did the best you could, and you should be proud. Always.

Decided to start NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) through the encouragement of Rachel and an author on Fictionpress. I hope I'm allowed to do alot of short stories though....I can't write novels =\. Since its only 50k words...no sweat, eh? I do have exams until the 12th though...so after that it has to be 3 - 4 stories a day, 1000 words or so each. WAAAAAA~

I am currently shoving a few albums of Kpop into my iPod, and I noticed that I have a less and less ratio of White songs : Asian songs. What should I do? Any suggestions?

Karmasplosion

To All the Year 12's I know:

Thankyou for making these three years so bearable and fun to have at Melbourne High. I've learnt so much from you guys, not only academically but also in life. You guys have made these three years quite fun and I've loved spending it with you guys. I realise that this is quite shit, putting it up on my blog, and I probably can't specifically talk to everyone, but I'll endeavour to do that in future posts. I promise. Cross my heart and hope to die. ^^

Anyway, in other news, quite quickly (very karmasplosive!):

1. State Debating Team of B Grade. SUPER HAPPY!
2. History Revolutions Prize. EPIC HAPPY!

^^ Ima post more when I have more time and when I'm not as dead as I am right now.

BTW THESE HEADPHONES ARE AWESOME! I want the sushi one <33

The dragon of history, how I wish to slay thou!

The beast which we call History Revolutions is currently being fought:

Me
Mana: 300/900
HP: 790/1000

History
Mana: 9000/2
HP: 30000000/4

I'm winning...er....damn.
Notes, Quotes and lots of Fun in store for me now! Yay. History Revolutions has been really really fun. I have no idea why I've been so happy about it. The French Revolution and Russian Revolution were really interesting...its been fun to learn. But I didn't know there was so much else involved with Revolutions...historiography and everything! Golly [that sounded really 1950's...and gay]! But its also been hard work. REmembering dates and views and stuff is actually quite hard. Not as easy as BM or Psych, I think, because its not ONLY remembering things and splurting them back out again. Its also analysing and giving a view. >________>

I'm running for music captain! To tell the truth, I'd really rather just be Vice captain. You're kind of viewed the same as the usic captain, but you don't have as much responsibility. And you get to HAVE FUN! :O:O:O yesh~

DEBATING is soon....so I shall delve once more into the realms of Australian Politics!

CIAO!

PS. I do not want to die on Muck-Up Day; please, have mercy.

My sister is annoying

She is currently in my room annoying the shitz out of me laughing. For some inane reason. Please help me.

oh look! A flying brick!

In other news, there are no more Revs SAC's anymore. I am quite happy. Now to the exam! YAYY!

WAO i have nearly nothing to say. What has happened to me?! =="

Umm...well...I have nothing interesting on at the moment. Tomorrow, MHS 6 ft. Tallon Mason-Kaine is coming over for some superdebating training! Why? State Debating finals of course! :O ON THURSDAY! AT CAULFIELD GRAMMAR SCHOOL!! AGAINST ST. CATHERINES!!!

OMG! that was quite interesting =)

Be good on muck-up week~ ^^

Ps. I am going to die on Muck-up day. Please, have mercy. T__T
Pps. I need to study for exams. WHAT!? SHIET~

The Melancholy of Me

Just feeling really tired lately. Could be lack of sleep, but I doubt its worse than E.Kok's....>_>

Double Chem today was just really shit. Just Really Shit. Worst friday afternoons ever....siigh...oh well.

On a more positive note, State Debating Finals on the 22nd of October at Caulfield Grammar. This may be fun to watch....the slaughter of us xDD This requires training, of course...Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday....TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING! Let's hope we win, eh?

Spring Breakfast and Musikaal Shmozikaaal (or however the heck its spelt). Should be fun...==" Singing is alright, but performing? I never got the hang of that....^^"

Anyway...I've written some stories for Visions of the Future Folio...I may post them later on fpress after another read-through. I have to choose which one I submit. >____>

MANGA NOTE: FFS ALL THE MANGA IS GOING OFF!! Naruto, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn...the list goes on and on. Damn. I. Love. Manga. Go read that shit already!

Dr. He yesterday was as fun as always. I always love it (of course), and I actually think his new scheme is alright. The A scheme for everyone makes people motivated to get into the 'normal' class. I don't think the 'trying' class has very good connotations though. 'Just keep trying' he says. WTF....I guess that's motivation enough ^^"

Best picture ever...from Darren's Blog

We should say it more often. ^^

Last dayyy - funfunfun~

School is over for another term. Isn't that good?

Yesterday was fun. The last day of term is always fun.the tradition of watching a movie on the last day was continued, as always, with UP! UP IS AWESOME! Not only is it an awesome Disney/Pixar film, but its also really, to quote mX, 'emotionally deep'. Its funny, sad and just...everything throughout. I RECOMMEND IT! ^^

Its always fun to be with people you love. xDD

Afterwards, it was time to go to Kbox with YingWong, Jen and Big Vincent! That was a fun time. Even with only the four of us, we had alot to sing xDD It was quite funn~

However, I think I should just say right now a big SORRY to Ying for being so damn awkward. we made lots of awkward turtles xDD T___T I have no idea why we did; its probably because i'm such a bad communicator. I just do stupid things stupidly and..siigh...awkwardness ensues. However, it wasn't with Wong. He was just..I dunno..cool with everything. xDD Just like Kyon. Hahahaha~

Now what do I have planned for the coming holidays?

Sunday 20 : State with the boys~
Monday 21: Movie with sister and Christine - 500 Days of Summer...
Tuesday 22: SJ and Gavin coming over for some fun
Wednesday 23: Dr. He Gathering!! Movie: Up, Pool, Karaoke~

Saturday 3:
Sunday 4: Get ready for school T____T

Isn't that busy? All the days free are going to be filled doing other work...or maybe MORE history work!

Oh, there'll also be TONS of procrastination! Yayy!

Totally Serious Debating

Its been a long, hard slog to get to the semi-finals for debating in B-grade. I am so proud, and honoured to be part of this MHS 6 team.

We started off as a team primarily created for fun. As friends, we just wanted to see how far we could get with debating, as we are all intelligent (to a certain degree xDD) and it would improve our public speaking skills.

We never thought we'd get this far.

Mostly, its our lucky draws that have been the key factor, in my eyes, this year. We vs.ed Macrob ONCE in a prepared debate, which we thought we were going to lose, but won. Everyone else was not much competition, to tell the truth.

I know there will be so many people at school who watch us with resentment. We're not the best team, and yet we get so far. In actual fact, I believe that if we got this far, at least 3 other teams should have as well! Sorry guys...I hope we get better so we can be as good as we claim to be ^^"

Thanks to Tom, Kento, Junou, Sachin and to a lesser extent, Kevin. All this moral support and actual support has been so beneficial for us. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.
